Firefighters, Frisbees, and Face Painting

Today was an exhausting but SUPER successful day! We started off by delivering doughnuts to the fire department and the police department. The Red Team got to see the 911 operators, meet the chief, and in the words of Bonnie Greer, "look at some funny posters." The Green Team also got to go on a little tour! We got to see all the different engines, mobile headquarters, paramedic vehicles, bunk rooms, the kitchen, and I even used my puppy dog eyes to get a chance to ride down the fire pole!

After we left, we went back for some lunch then got to head to the parks! At Russian Jack, Peter sang He's Got the Whole World in His Hands in his native language. I will post a video later, the wifi here is a bit restricting so it would take all day to upload it here! At Government Hill, we started a game of ultimate frisbee. It was a hit! There were a lot more kids at both parks today, it was a beautiful 67° all day!

After dinner, the Green Team loaded up to set up their PARK PARTY! At the park parties, GraceWorks invites all families to come up out for free hot dogs, a bouncy castle, bubbles, face painting, nail painting, crazy hair, music, and all sorts of games. We got everything set up, and there were immediately kids swarming in from every direction! They know what Thursday consists of, and they love it.

Our friend, Brandon, actually brought his violin and played for us! There was also a little girl who wanted to paint MY face... She comes every day to the park, so I knew I was in for a treat.

Today was awesome, we're all really learning what it means to be a "servant evangelist." Tomorrow is our last day in the parks, so please be praying that we will have easy goodbyes with these kids. We've all gotten so attached, and we have formed really close connections with certain ones, as well. Tomorrow will be tough, but this experience has been INCREDIBLE. Thanks to everyone who has gotten us here!
